White Christmas Lights for Bedroom: Tips and Ideas for a Magical and Romantic Setting

The lights you fall in love for the way they look and make your space feel are ultimately the best lights for your bedroom! However, there are certain things you can look for to make sure the lights you choose will be ideal for use in your bedroom or in any other interior decorating project. There are a lot of string light options out there, so to help simplify things, we've put together this quick guide for what to look for when selecting lights for your bedroom. We've also included some of our favorite bedroom lights ideas to help inspire your own indoor decorating!

If you're looking to create a fun, playful atmosphere in your room, you can go wild with colors. But if your goal is to create a cozy space, we recommend selecting lights that give off a "warm" glow. Clear incandescent mini lights & warm white LED string lights emit a welcoming glow that is ideal for use indoors, especially in the bedroom. When searching for bedroom string lights, and more specifically white LEDs, we recommend checking the Kelvin temperature of the lights you plan to purchase to make sure they fall in the range that is best for room lighting. The recommended kelvin rating for bedroom use is between 2700 to 3500K. This will give you a calming glow that is perfect for creating a tranquil setting.

When using string lights in your bedroom, you'll likely be turning them on more often than you might with Christmas lights. Keeping this in mind, you may want to consider using LED string lights because they last much longer than incandescent bulbs. Additionally, LEDs are cool to the touch and produce little to not heat at all, which makes them safer for indoor use.

LED string lights have bulbs that range in size from small to very large. For use in the bedroom, look for mini LED string lights that are either T5, G12 or C6 bulb size. These bulbs have lens styles that diffuse the light, creating a softer look that is perfect for indoor decorating. We do not recommend wide angle mini lights for bedroom use, as they are often very bright and best used in outdoor settings. These tiny little bulbs, also sometimes called micro LEDs, are no bigger than a water droplet and are typically set on a very thin wire. The list below includes some of our favorite ideas for bedroom string lights, but there's really no limit to where they can go! If you're attaching string lights to bedroom walls or the ceiling, we recommend using adhesive hooks and clips for easy removal. But if you want a more permanent display, screw-in hooks, nails, and various other hardware can be used - your choice!

LED Christmas lights receive high marks for durability. In tests, LED bulbs still worked after more than 4,000 hours. Standard light-string bulbs, however, burned out at a rate of one to two per strand in less than half that time. You can also use these LED lights in your bedroom permanently to create a nice inviting atmosphere that boosts relaxation.

Warm white LED lights give off a soft glow compared to traditional lights and are a good choice indoors for Christmas trees. Cool white LED lights offer a more snow-white tone and are often used outdoors.
